Wednesday Evenings – Youth meet @ 7:00 PM

We have a growing young adult program made up of long time members and college students from NCSU who have joined us recently. Each month we get together for food and fellowship. Some of the activities that we like to do are go to the beach, monthly lunches after church, Christmas parties, Super Bowl parties, and other things. We meet for Bible study on Sunday mornings upstairs in the main building.

We would love to meet you and we hope our ministry is what you need at this time in your life.

Join us at 9:45 am on Sunday morning for Bible Study and coffee.

Music is very important at Athens Drive Baptist Church and we use various styles of music in our worship services. Music is vital as we worship God, and it also encourages us, inspires us to praise and give thanks, and draws us closer to God.

We have musical opportunities for different ages such as handbells, children’s choir and adult choir. The Music Ministry of Athens Drive Baptist Church offers something special for everyone. If you have an interest in music we welcome you and your family to share in this ministry with us. There is a place for you!

Christmas by the Sea, a senior adult retreat at Fort Caswell, is scheduled for December 6 – 8.  This year’s theme, “From Manger to Majesty”, will focus on Jesus’ life, not only His birth in the manger, but His entire time on earth and what can be learned from His earthly ministry. Phyllis Elvington, an uplifting, energetic, and awesome woman of God, will be the guest speaker. The cost  of $180.00 includes 2 nights lodging, 5 meals, a craft as well as other optional in-house activities, and a Christmas show at Fort Caswell featuring Russell and Kristi Johnson, past performers with the Carolina Opry.  If interested in attending, a deposit of half of the total cost, $90.00, is needed by Sunday, October 1 to secure your reservation.  The remainder will be needed upon arrival at Caswell.  Please make checks payable to Connie Hockaday as Caswell prefers deposits be submitted with one check for each church group.

“Serving Sharing Sending”

OPERATION INASMUCH 2017 REPORT

Fourteen GGCF members joined 41 Athens Drive Baptist members in carrying out nine projects that ministered to our community in the name of Christ.  Six projects had potential to impact 480 people in a direct manner either through personal interactions or preparing greeting cards to be sent to military personnel, nursing home residents and hospital patients.  Three teams had indirect impacts on people in the community as they spread mulch on the Frisbee golf course in Kentwood Park, picked up 17 large bags of trash along a 1.5 mile stretch of Gorman Street, conducted yard maintenance around the Family Promise Facility and made repairs in the Family Promise Transitional Building.  The collective time committed to serving Christ in the community was 200 hours.  I am thankful that support of Operation Inasmuch remained strong in the eighth consecutive year.
