We are in the season of Lent. The word Lent comes from an old Anglo-Saxon word that means “springtime.” We often hear people talking about doing some spring cleaning this time of the year. Lent is the best time for some spiritual spring-cleaning. Here are seven sins that should not be found in our lives: (1) Pride (2) Envy (3) Anger (4) Apathy (5) Greed (6) Gluttony (7) Lust. Just one of these alone calls for confession, repentance, and recommitment. They are deadly sins!
Here are seven virtues that people need to see in our lives: (1) Compassion (2) kindness (3) Humility (4) Meekness (5) Patience (6) Forgiveness (7) Love. The seven virtues are Christ-like characteristics. May we put forth great effort during the season of Lent to be more like Jesus. Happy spiritual spring cleaning this Lent season.

ADULT MISSION NIGHT: Please join us Wednesday, March 11, at 7:00 P.M. for mission night. Our focus for March is the Annie Armstrong Easter offering, which supports North American missionaries. There will be envelopes and prayer guides in the bulletin March 8, and we will be collecting this offering through the month of March. Please join us as we learn how this offering helps missionaries in the United States, Canada, and their territories spread God’s love and message of salvation.
OFFERING DONATIONS: These are the offerings/donations we have collected since the beginning of this church year:
September – $1700 for the North Carolina Missions offering and approximately 50 cans of food for State Fair workers
October – $1345 for Global Hunger Relief
$990 for Kennedy Children’s Home Christmas gifts
November – $745 for Baptist Children’s Homes and 50 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child
December – $1619.50 for the Lottie Moon Christmas offering
