May 1, 2024                        “Serving  Sharing  Sending”

   From the Pastor

Anne, a wife and the mother of three small children, wonders if she will finish the tasks for the day.  This is especially true since Anne is the mother of three small boys.  However, Anne gets it all done even if she has to stay up after everyone else has gone to bed.

Anne looks forward to that one day during the year with hopes of being appreciated.  One year Anne entered the den where her husband and boys were waiting for her.  Her husband said, “Boys, do you know what makes today so special?”  The five year old ran past his mother’s outstretched arms asking with  excitement, “Is it garbage day?”  He loved to watch the big waste hauler.

I say to all the sons and daughters don’t forget Mother’s Day.  Let her know that she is appreciated for all the things she does for you.  To all the husbands and fathers of these sons and daughters don’t forget Mother’s Day.  Let her know that she is appreciated for all the things she does for the family.  “Her children rise up and call her blessed.  Her husband too, and he praises her, ’Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.’”  (Proverbs 31:28-29)

        CHILDREN’S NEWS

THANK YOU:  I would like to extend a sincere thank you for those that made the community egg hunt possible. Thank you for the donations, the time, the teaching, the invitations, and the prayers.  May God continue to bless our efforts beyond this single day of ministry.

Please join us Wednesday, May 1, at 7:00 P.M. for mission night.  Our focus for May is the North Carolina Baptist Hospital Mother’s Day Offering.  We will be collecting this offering through the month of May.  The week of prayer is May 5-11, and there will be prayer guides and envelopes in the bulletin on May 5.  You can also use the Mother’s Day offering envelopes in your boxes.  This offering benefits patients at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center who cannot pay their bills.  Thank you for your participation in this ministry.

THANK YOU:   Your love and kindness have meant more than words can possibly express.  Your prayers, phone calls, cards, visits, and meals helped us through a difficult time when Jack and I were both off of our feet.  You were there again for Jackie and me during Jack’s hospitalization and homegoing.  Your thoughtfulness and generosity have made a huge difference. Thank you for your love and support through everything.  I am grateful to have you in my life.

Sincerely, Donna Chappell
