WMU NEWS: The mission focus for October is Global Hunger Relief. Hunger is an ongoing world-wide problem, and Global Hunger Relief is a Southern Baptist initiative to meet this need through gospel-centered solutions. We will be collecting this offering through the month of October. Envelopes will be in the bulletin October 11. Can you believe it’s already time for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes! There are several options for participating in this mission project: (1) There will be boxes in the foyer which you can pack and return. The label brochure has suggestions of items to include, as well as some items that cannot be sent. Please include $10.00 for shipping. You can put cash inside your box or you can put a check made out to Athens Dr. Baptist Church in an envelope, mark it “Christmas Child Shoeboxes”, and leave it on the offering table. These boxes have to be returned to church by Sunday, November 15. (2) You can “build” a shoebox online at samaritanspurse.org/buildonline. (3) You can donate what you would like by putting cash or a check (made out to Athens Dr. Baptist Church) in an envelope, marking it “Christmas Child Shoeboxes”, and leaving it on the offering table.
KENNEDY CHILDREN’S HOME: If you would like to make a donation to the Kennedy Children’s Home for Christmas gifts, there will be envelopes on the offering table marked for this.
